Saying The Monitum

That’s me saying the monitum at Sarah & Jacson⁠’s Tocal Homestead wedding. That’s the serious part: the legal part taken directly from the legislation. It’s what marriage IS in Australia. It doesn’t really match the rest of my style of writing. It’s a little dense in the wording. But that’s what marriage is and I have to say it. Also, I’m proud to say it since the wording changed 2 years ago when the definition of marriage in Australia changed. And it’s ok to have some serious parts in your ceremony too. After all, it’s not a comedy show. It’s about the light and the shade, and I’m not talking about the shadows from the fig tree.

Julie was our lovely celebrant for our wedding ceremony at Tocal Homestead. She went above and beyond to make our ceremony both romantic and personal. Julie is incredibly friendly and really took the time to get to know us as a couple before the big day to make our ceremony nothing short of perfect. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an absolutely amazing celebrant!
