Wanderlust runs deep
Ten months after meeting they decided to move to Melbourne together. There weren’t many reasons ‘why’ to move to the ☕ capital, it was more of a ‘why not?!’- following their need for adventure.
Moving to Melbourne was a massive leap of faith for their relationship and living on top of each other in a tiny apartment definitely had its moments. Ultimately though, it was a great decision as it allowed Cherese + Tom to grow as a couple.
Tom bought a 990 Mitsubishi L300 4WD van for $350 that was on it’s way to the wreckers. It was basically an empty shell that needed a lotta love. He did all the modifications himself.
In search of perfect views, pristine night skies and waking up in nature to pop their feet through the back door, the couple have travelled around Tasmania and the east coast of Victoria.
So of course the van called SMURF (for obvious reasons) had to come to the wedding in the Hunter Valley too!
Geocaching during your wedding
Who knows what it is?
People normally fall into two categories:
1. Those that love it
2. Those that have never heard of it!
Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting activity that uses GPS. The cache will be hidden (but not buried) in a public place. It’s not unusual to find it in a camouflaged box attached to something with a magnet. When you find the box, there is usually a logbook inside so that you can record your visit. There are approximately 3 million geocaches across 190 countries, with more popping up every day. It’s crazy when you log in for the first time and realise there are some in your neighbourhood that you walk past every day. I hope I’m selling it to you ’cause it’s a lot of fun! Anyway, when I heard that Tom proposed while the couple were geocaching I nearly died! I knew these were my people.Tom placed the fake geocache Tupperare box down under a rock for Cherese to find. She opened it up and pulled out the ring box. She had no idea it was HER ring box ? because people often put little trinkets inside the geocaches. When she opened it up she got a massive surprise!
At Whispering Brook, I decided to SURPRISE the couple with my own geocache mid-ceremony. I planted a little magnet on this old farm machinery, which was just beside the ceremony location. My idea was that whoever found it FIRST could decide who was going first on the vows. I was delighted that they BOTH got into it!
Only afterward, I realised how much danger I’d put Cherese’s silky dress in, rifling around the rusty metal. Oooppps! I think I’m forgiven. They told me they LOVED IT!
Yah for Leftovers
I sell my eco-confetti in quantities of 20 because that’s how many cones the trays hold. Just makes sense. Cherese & Tom only had 8 guests at their wedding. No biggie. The guests doubled up on the cones to try and get a great walking-back-down-the-aisle shot. Afterward the couple had some fun with the leftovers by blowing the dried petals in each other’s faces! Love it!
Also, shout out to the bride’s gorgeous sister Chanel for being my most enthusiastic petal distributor: she took on her job with gusto.
