Hannah & Nathan threw the rulebook out the window for their Stonehurst Cedar Creek Micro Wedding.
Originally they dreamed of eloping to Italy, because they wanted to escape the pressure, anxiety and obligation they felt about having a traditional wedding. And well, because Italy is a gorgeous country and that’s enough of a reason to want to marry there!
When Covid struck, they had to adjust their plans to remain in Australia. So, they had a micro wedding with just their close family at Stonehurst Cedar Creek on a Monday. Yep, you heard that right…… it was a Monday lunchtime ceremony! All 10 guests including the nieces and nephews wore outfits that were cream or pale pink to match the soft colour palette of the flowers. The result was soooooooooo stylish. They are going to have the most chic family photos ever!
They told me they wanted to experience a totally intimate wedding celebration – a day focused on just the two of them…….. but then they also wanted to celebrate like it was 1999 with their many many friends. They found a way to have their cake and eat it too.
Why not make wedding after-parties a thing like trailblazers Hannah & Nathan?!
Watch Hannah + Nathan’s wedding COME TO LIFE in their wedding video.
I’m frothing over their extraordinarily moving VOWS that have been over-laid on their highlights video and boy, do those words pack a punch! They are authentic, funny and heartfelt.
When you have videography for your wedding, there is always chance that at least some of your personalised vows will make it into the final video, so it’s worth putting in the extra bit of effort like these two lovers did.
Watching Hannah & Nathan’s video has reminded me that some things even the best photography can’t capture. It captures movement, mannerisms and your personality in all its glory.
If you are ummming and awwwing about wedding videography for your own micro wedding, take this as a sign to DO IT!
Unpopular opinion: if you can only afford one (photographer or videographer), to me it makes more sense to spend your $$$ on the videographer.
Like all the best wedding vendors, the best videographers book far in advance, so you don’t want to wait too late in the game to hire someone. You can find my favourites in my Little Black Book.

“Julie was our celebrant for our Stonehurst Cedar Creek Micro Wedding. We couldn’t have picked a better person for it. She completely understood the type of ceremony we wanted, she was engaging, very funny, grounding and the best of all she kept the calm when things became that little bit stressful. Our guests (the very few we had) commented how beautiful Julie made our ceremony, how intimate and welcoming she was to all. We absolutely recommend having Julie apart of whatever your special occasion may be! “
