When I look back on Dom and Nick’s Chapel Ridge wedding, the word that immediately comes to mind is CLASSY. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Classy? Isn’t that just a fancy way of saying expensive?” Not at all! Creating a classy wedding is all about making thoughtful choices that reflect elegance, taste, and attention to detail. It’s about crafting a day that feels special and memorable without being over-the-top. Let me walk you through what made Dom and Nick’s day so spectacular in my eyes.
First up, the venue. The magic really started with their choice of location. They picked a spot that was already brimming with natural beauty. Think stunning views, gorgeous architecture, and lush landscaping. Sometimes, the best decor is what’s already there – like the huge windows in the chapel- you just need to let it shine.
Dom and Nick were all about making their guests feel right at home. From welcoming staff to thoughtful signage and clear directions, every detail was designed to make the guests feel appreciated and comfortable. It’s those little touches of warm hospitality that really set the tone for the day.
When it came to décor, they proved that less is often more. A few well-chosen pieces – elegant flower arrangements and chic table settings – made a bigger impact than a room full of decorations ever could. It was all about timeless elegance rather than flashy extravagance.
Their attire was the epitome of classic style. Dom and Nick chose timeless designs that are going to look just as fabulous in their photos fifty years from now. And this wasn’t just for the couple – the whole bridal party looked effortlessly stylish in black.
The ceremony itself was a beautiful blend of heartfelt and personal touches. They wrote their own personalised vows, included a meaningful reading ‘Marry Your Best Friend’, and even had a symbolic wine box ritual. It was intimate and genuine, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
One of the most impressive aspects was how smoothly everything ran. A well-coordinated event where everything happens on time contributes massively to the overall classiness. It was clear that a lot of attention to detail went into planning the day, and it paid off big time.
They also hired photographers who truly understood their vision. The focus was on capturing candid moments – those genuine emotions and interactions that tell the real story of the day.
Last but not least, Dom and Nick made sure to engage with their guests. They went out of their way to include everyone in their celebration, with personal interactions and sincere thank-yous that left a lasting impression on everyone there.
So, what makes a wedding classy? It’s not about how much you spend, but how much thought and care you put into creating a beautiful, heartfelt day. Dom and Nick nailed it, and their wedding was a perfect example of how elegance, warmth, and a bit of personal flair can come together to create something truly special.
Before the ceremony started, I was in the chapel getting everything ready. You know, the usual routine: doing a sound check, placing the personalised vows I’d printed on the signing table and practicing my intro. Then, the groom, Nick, arrived. We’d had both our planning meetings over Zoom, so this was our first time meeting in person, but it wasn’t awkward at all.
Nick, usually such a bubbly character, was visibly nervous. I encouraged him to sit down and take a moment to soak in the space and get comfortable. After he composed himself, he got up, and we shared a few laughs to lighten the mood.
The range of emotions you feel on a wedding day is wild, but that’s where I come in. I’ll be there, a steadying force for you to lean on, ensuring that you are relaxed enough to enjoy the ceremony.
What an incredible ceremony! The ceremony had been absolutely superb – engaging, entertaining and everyone, including me, was on cloud nine!
It was an unplugged affair, but right after the big kiss, seemed like a good time to give all the guests the green light to grab their phones and scratch that itch.
I invited the bridesmaids and groomsmen up (because they were seated for most of the ceremony) for our #SocialMediaMinute, and boy, did it go off!
The legendary groomsman James took my suggestion and snapped the best mid-ceremony wedding selfie ever! 📸🤳It’s moments like these that will stay with me for a lifetime.
“Julie was absolutely amazing as our celebrant! We can’t recommend her highly enough.
We had been searching for a celebrant for a while, but hadn’t found the right connection yet. We were beginning to doubt whether our vision was realistic when we found Julie. From our first meeting we knew she was perfect for us. Julie brings the perfect mix of humour and story telling to her ceremonies. And as an type A myself, Julie’s professionalism and organisation was second to none. Every step of the process she clearly explained what needed to happen and supplied amazing resources to assist. We loved how much freedom and creativity we had in designing our perfect celebration. Julie’s service goes way beyond the ceremony itself, and we can’t thank her enough for the calmness she brought. Our guests loved the ceremony, and we received so many amazing comments. Thank you again for being such a special part of our day!”
