I get it. You are spending a lot of money on one day and you want it to be amazing! My advice to all my couples is to have a vision, be organised, plan, delegate, employ good vendors and then trust they will do a great job, which is exactly what Emma + Lucas did for their wedding at Stanley Park.
It’s obvious but in the run up to the wedding…LOOK AFTER YOURSELF. Eat well, sleep well, hydrate, meditate. At some point, close to the date, it’s good to let some ideas go if you are running out of time to execute them. Those last little details won’t make or break the wedding. It’s your state of mind that will make the wedding! On the off-chance that something doesn’t go to plan on the day, make sure you are relaxed enough that you don’t let it derail you. The most important thing is to be present and enjoy every moment.
I spy with my little eye…. a pair of loved-up newlyweds in the background in Stanley Park.
It’s a magical moment…. you’ve just signed the marriage paperwork and you are now officially married. Whoop whoop! Months of planning have come to this and you are now cruising to the party!
That’s why I always encourage my couples to step away from the signing table and have a smooch and a chat, all to themselves.
It is easy to fall in love with the idea of mis-matched bridal dresses but a lot harder to pull off this look, especially when all the dresses are a different colour and from different designers.
The genius of this trend when done right is that each person can choose a style, fabric, cut and colour that suits them. Jess, Emma and Gabby all look sensational in their mismatched dresses. That’s how you do it!

“We found Julie by chance, a recommendation on a Facebook page. Living in North Queensland and having our wedding in Newcastle we were sometimes worried at how planning would go with all of our vendors.
We met Julie on one of our trips to Newcastle- we didn’t bother meeting with any other celebrants once we met Julie! She was friendly, LOVES WEDDINGS and her job and so amazingly helpful. Her little booklet of advice she gives to all couples was the best thing to read and help with the ceremony.
We changed our venue (to Stanley Park) and date of wedding- not a problem for Julie.
No matter how many questions or emails or anything we needed to know, she answered and isn’t seem annoyed by it at all!!
The rehearsal was so helpful before the ceremony and to calm some nerves!
The actual day of the wedding and ceremony was everything we wanted! A celebration of love, who we are as a couple. So many people complimented the love and the feel of the ceremony.
Thank you so much Julie for making our day so special and so memorable. It was the best day ever and the fantastic ceremony made everyone so excited for a night of celebrations. Thank you so so much!!”
