Katy and Dave’s wedding at The Anchorage was a wonderful statement of their personalities and exquisite taste which I think can be summed up as Outer Style, Inner Substance.
This is what wedding dreams are made of!
When you have great taste and a strong vision for your day and you use your skills to assemble a shit hot team of wedding vendors, the results are pure magic.
Enjoy this feast for the eyes!
Katy & Dave are two of the most charismatic people I have ever met. You feel charisma the moment it enters the room, or in our case, it was on Zoom as they live in Sydney.
My first impression of them was not just that they were likable. They exuded a joie de vivre that drew me in.
They told me of their love for new experiences: about their massive 10 month cycling trip around the world. Adventurers after my own heart!
I knew I wanted to be the one to marry them and was delighted they felt the same way. I felt energized and motivated to write an engaging ceremony worthy of their epic love story.
Oh how I cheered when Katy & Dave told me that they were both changing their surnames, but not to a double-barrell last name…..No!
They had other ideas: they decided to make up a NEW JOINT SURNAME.
So Kathryn WILLIS + David TURNER = Mr & Mrs TULLINGTON
I respect and admire them so much for doing it. It was a ballsy and unconventional move, which sums them up generally. These two are not ones to jump on the bandwagon. They have the courage of their convictions.
They were determined to smash the patriarchy and start their marriage on an equal footing.
I’m kind of jealous I didn’t do it when I was getting married. Myself and Cam briefly talked about it but there is a big gap between talking and following through.
These two committed, not just to their marriage but to their new surname. I let all the guests know at the end of the ceremony that from that point on, what they’d be known as.
And they even made this fab sign themselves (seriously there is no end to their talents) to make sure all the guests knew they were serious. The beautiful single line artwork on the sign was designed by the talented @p.e_designs
To The Tullingtons- the most fearless couple I know, I salute you lovers xxx

Myself and Katy just wanted to say a huge thankyou for having our ceremony at the Anchorage run so smoothly. We felt totally comfortable being lead by you and loved the quirky bits that you put into the ceremony. We had many guests comment on how great you were and how much they enjoyed the ceremony – despite that sun beaming down.
