THIS IS THE TEMPLATE! 🔥
Rochelle & Daniel were invested from the beginning. They approached their ceremony with the best attitude! They understood that amazing events don’t just happen.
They gave me their time and energy and together we created something outstanding that will live on in their hearts and in the memories of their guests forever.
It is certainly indelibly inked in my mind. Although I married them a year ago, this is one wedding that didn’t fade an iota over time. Just thinking about it, brought back a flood of visceral memories.
This is it. This is the template for how you should approach your wedding ceremony as demonstrated by Rochelle & Daniel.
🤝Understand that it’s a collaboration. Give your celebrant an abundance of great material to work with by being forthcoming with all the seemingly inconsequentially details of your relationship.
🤭Let your celebrant surprise your I DO crew with a quick roast that will have them keeled over laughing and the guests hanging off the celebrant’s every word.
📱Include your absent bridesmaid in WA by having her on an IPad standing with the other bridesmaids so she doesn’t miss a thing- dressed in her bridesmaid dress of course!
🙏Include your core values of respect and inclusion by having an Acknowledgement of Country.
📺Choose a reading that’s a snippet from one of your favourite TV shows (How I Met Your Mother).
📩Write epic personalised vows. Before playing paper, scissors, rock, get the crowd laughing by stretching.
☔Don’t stress if it rains-move your wedding to the big barn and trust your photographers will still get great photos even though the dark barn + chandelier combo creates a tricky lighting sitch.
📸 Create a killer wedding hashtag for the day #tohaveandtohawken
💕Stay in the moment. Don’t be afraid to display whatever emotions bubble up: admiration, wonder, surprise, nostalgia, amusement, joy and of course LOVE.
FABULOUS FIRST LOOK
The BOM radar is couple’s best friend on their wedding day. For Rochelle & Daniel it was the bearer of bad news 🌧️🌧️🌧️
They made the difficult decision to redirect all of their guests to the big barn at the back of the Wandin Estate for their ceremony. Thankfully it was big enough for all of their guests (100+) to huddle in. Once the decision was made, there was no going back because the guests had to drive to get there.
Also there is nothing worse than starting the ceremony and then getting poured on mid-way through because you were misguided in your optimism.
It was pretty kind of the couple to think of the comfort of their guests. No one wants to be cold and wet for the rest of the day! especially after getting your hair done!
When there was a break in the rain, Rochelle & Daniel dashed down to their original ceremony spot under the trees overlooking the cricket pitch and did an emotional first look with the legends from @ropeandpulley capturing every glorious moment.
Daniel looks like a badass but underneath it all, he is a big softie and he balled when he saw Rochelle. I don’t blame him. She looked extraordinary in her sparkly number.
POLISH A TURD 💩
Rochelle won a stick, (yep a stick), from @hamishandandy and @hamishblakeshotz during one of their crazy radio comps 📻 Classic H+A 🤣
Most people probably would have felt a bit ripped off by the prize but not Rochelle. She took that stick and asked the @thepetalcollective to make it wedding-worthy ✨
Talk about polishing a turd! It was the most stunning alternative bouquet I’ve ever seen. If wedding sticks become the next big thing, you’ll know exactly where the trend started! ♥️
It also came in handy to enforce social distancing covid style 😉
